The Artist

My paintings are contemporary underpinned by the teaching at John Ruskin Art School, which consisted of the discipline of Life Drawing and Painting whilst allowing flexibility and creativity within the confines of disciplined drawing techniques of Art.

My ideas are formed from my own brain which has absorbed images from film, fashion, other painters, art magazines and interiors:  but particularly images of Astral Explosions of the Supernova its expression of energy is something that I convey into my paintings.  Energy is expressed in all my paintings, creating powerful strokes with a painterly ethos, using a bold palette of colour.  Working from sketches, my memory base and life experiences, paintings often take a long time to emerge.

My studio is situated within beautiful farmland where the tranquillity helps focus the mind to the power ahead.

At Anglia University, Cambridge, I Gained a BA (Hons) In the Study of Art, incorporating Art History and Fine Art. This included Portraiture, Contemporary Paining, Drawing and Sculpture.

Hope you enjoy the journey !
